McMurdo Dry Valley is one place that still holds mysteries for researchers. Several issues say that this place has a very extreme nature of the topography as well as living microorganisms that are still primarily so that the objects of research scientists. some researchers say that the extreme topography in the area as if similar topography elsewhere outside of planet earth, like the planet mars.

Located in western Antarctica, mainland Victoria. McMurdo valley topography looks like something unfamiliar area, it caused a lot of interesting geological features such as lakes and rivers Vida onyx, which is the longest river in Antarctica.

The region has a very extreme climate, with low humidity, making the valley is a vast desert in Antarctica, with an area of 4800 square km, due to the lack of ice cover in the area.

Lake Vida is the largest lake located in the valley McMurdo, with an area of approximately 6.8 square kilometers and is a closed basin (endorheic), water in the lake area was frozen throughout the year with a content of very high salinity, which is almost 7x content of salt water ordinary sea.

In the lake ice is based on research results found microorganisms originating from ancient times and many ancient DNA contained therein, it is because there is a layer of ice that has frozen micro-organisms over millions of years.
